The name of the Au is very apt if you think of the area between MAN, paper mill, bleach? and Firnhaberau viewed from above. Like a wolf's tooth, it tapers from south to north at the confluence of the Lech and Wertach rivers. This area is still a piece of primeval landscape, as it usually looked here in the past, when the Lech and Wertach were not yet banished into deep gullies by people.

The Wolfzahnau is a 76-acre and very species-rich conservation area. The name probably originated because the outline of the area - which extends to the confluence of Lech and Wertach - is reminiscent of a wolf's tooth.
For us as children, this was an adventure playground pure, especially since the Arno bunker has not been converted into a parking lot and was really scary. Today, the LSG offers beautiful and little-traveled ways to recover and with good luck you can even see the kingfisher here.

It also explains what that is. You pass there on many tours.
