An impressive group of statues can be found on Koningin Emmaboulevard, in Hoek van Holland. It is one of the four monuments that recall the Jewish children's transport, the other three are in London, Gdansk and Berlin. A rescue operation was launched to save Jewish children.

The designer of this group of statues, Frank Meisler, was himself one of the approximately 10,000 Jewish children who were transferred to England from December 1938.

The parents were not allowed to wave goodbye to their children, and many would never see each other again.
