As in many other cities, the rubble in Stuttgart had to be removed from the city after the war. In Stuttgart, much of the rubble was deposited on the Birkenkopf, a natural hill in the west of the city. The locals therefore also call the Birkenkopf 'Monte Scherbelino'.
