Zauchensee is a district of the Austrian market town of Altenmarkt im Pongau. The Zauch, as the Salzburg valley is called in the Pongau dialect, is known for its winter sports area and as the venue for the Ski World Cup. The district got its name from the lake of the same name at the southern end of the valley. The valley is part of the cadastral municipality of Palfen, which was incorporated into Altenmarkt on January 1, 1936.
