The parish church of St. John the Baptist is one of the oldest parish churches in the diocese. The eastern parts of the current building still come from a three-aisled hall church from the 14th century, which burned down in 1457 and was changed several times in later times. In 1864 it was extended to the west by the Münster diocesan master builder Emil von Manger and given a tower. Inside, the tabernacle, which was designated in 1491 and which is likely to have come from the Bunickmann workshop, attracts particular attention. The late Gothic baptismal font with tracery decoration should be emphasized among the other pieces of equipment.
