We reach the Bindalm on our bike tour through Klausbachtal, which is also known as the Valley of the Eagles. The bike tour begins at Hintersee (Ramsau) on our ride through the Klausbachtal to the Hirschbichelpass.

Shortly before the Bavarian-Austrian border, the Bindalm lies beneath the impressive backdrop of the Ramsau Dolomites.

Alpine farming on the Bindalm is done in the traditional way.

There are a total of four alpine huts, so-called Kaser, on the Bindalm. Two of them are managed. Homemade products such as butter and cheese as well as drinks strengthen and refresh hikers and mountain bikers. Dairymaid Marianne Schmuck from Kressenkaser was one of the best-known in her field: in 1954, when she was 19, she spent her first summer on the Bindalm, and by 2015 well over 30 others had joined them. Every now and then you can still meet Marianne on the Bindalm. The Mittereisalm also belongs to the Bindalm as a high pasture, where the young cattle of the alpine farmers graze during the summer months. The traditional Schüsslkas is still made on the Bidalm: This cheese specialty is only available in the southern Berchtesgadener Land.
