Its local mountain, Monte Sassalto, forms a peninsula and was declared a nature reserve by the federal government because of its geological, faunistic and botanical features. Caslano is surrounded by numerous hiking trails in the hills and by the lake, and there are also ancient buildings and sacred art to admire in the village center.
