Portella de Meranges is an important mountain pass that joins Baixa (S.) and Alta Cerdanya (N.)
The ridge path from Puipedrós to Picos d'Engorgs passes right by this point.
If we go down to the north we have the option of chaining the Roc Colom and the Peiraforca before reaching the Vall de Campcardós (climbing equipment is required), or link directly with the GR that runs through the valley and that in this stretch the GR 7 and 107 coincide.
If we go down to the South we can reach Meranges passing through the J.Folch refuge and Girona and the Plan de Campllong or, following the GR 11 towards the Malniu refuge.
