The former bailiff Matthias Lehmann from Mönchweiler bought the "Hof auf dem Hörnle" on April 10, 1804 in order to settle a Moravian Brethren here. The congregation thus fulfilled the wish of the members of their church to have a congregation and a school here in southern Germany.

This laid the foundation stone (1806) for the establishment of the place. As a constant reminder that the place was created at the time when Württemberg became a kingdom, ”the community was given the name Königsfeld.

Today's Hörnlehof stands about 90 degrees from the previous building. The associated personal thing is today's house Rinderknecht, the oldest house in Königsfeld.

PS: "Hörnle" describes an elevation in Swabian. The ending "-is" indicates possession - therefore Hörnlehof and not Hörnlishof is the correct name.
