The former bailiff Matthias Lehmann from Mönchweiler bought the "Hof auf dem Hörnle" on April 10, 1804 in order to settle a Moravian Brethren here. The congregation thus fulfilled the wish of the members of their church to have a congregation and a school here in southern Germany. This laid the foundation stone (1806) for the establishment of the place. As a constant reminder that the place was created at the time when Württemberg became a kingdom, ”the community was given the name Königsfeld.Today's Hörnlehof stands about 90 degrees from the previous building. The associated personal thing is today's house Rinderknecht, the oldest house in Königsfeld.PS: "Hörnle" describes an elevation in Swabian. The ending "-is" indicates possession - therefore Hörnlehof and not Hörnlishof is the correct name.
