The works canal is the so-called empty shot of the Niedernach power plant. Water only runs here when the turbines of the lower secondary power station are switched off. The water (max. 12m³ / sec) comes from the Rissbach on the Austrian border and is fed through the 7km long Rissbach tunnel. About 600m above the power plant - in the Alpenbachtal - the tunnel emerges. You can get there on foot.
