Birchetsgump Alpine Pasture

An asphalt road leads from the Lechtal up to the Vorderbockbachalpe. The path is easy to walk, which gives you plenty of time to let your gaze wander over this mountain panorama. Once at the top, you can reward yourself for the ascent at Gamsvroni.

An easy hike first over the Krabach Gorge Bridge with an impressive view of the gorge. Then along the idyllic mountain settlement of Birchetsgump shown in these photos. The destination is either the Bockbacher Almwirtschaft or the "Zur Gamsvroni" snack bar (which as of June 2021 is only open from Thursday to Sunday). At the beginning of the path (on the B198) there are signs with the current opening times of both rest stops.
Above the Birchetsgump you can decide to take the beautiful "old Bockbach way". However, it is safer and less strenuous to walk this on the way back, as the current condition of the path should be asked from the innkeepers of the alpine inn. It could be blocked by broken trees or boulders due to avalanches in winter.
