The stony ascent to the Schafkarsee, which is more than 2,000 meters above sea level, is definitely worth it, because up here you will be rewarded with a view that you will not soon forget. The crystal clear mountain lake is embedded in a small basin below the Großer Schafkarspitze and offers you a great all-round view of the steep peaks around you and into the valley towards Gramais - the perfect place for an extended break!
