The roundabout near Oberhof is an obelisk and a monument to traffic history at the intersection of Thuringian state road 3247, the former federal road 247, with the Rennsteig. The roundabout is reminiscent of road construction from 1830 to 1832, which was headed by the Gothic captain and road builder Julius von Plänckner.
