Schönlind was on the now defunct railway line that had connected Cheb / Eger with Waldsassen. In 1930 there were 22 houses there and 148 people lived there. Schönlind had its own cemetery since 1902.
After the Second World War, all residents were expelled and rail traffic to Germany was discontinued.
The village - it was called Krásná Lípa since then - was completely destroyed by 1957, like all places near the "Iron Curtain". The cemetery was left to decay.
The cemetery was rebuilt as a memorial.
