"... In 1840 the miller J.P. Lange built Holstein's first steam mill in Uetersen, directly adjacent to the old thatched windmill. To avoid flying sparks and unpleasant smells, the 28m high chimney was built
erected in the forest (Langes Tannen) and connected to the steam mill via a 150m long steam channel. To prevent the chimney from being used by enemy aircraft as a landmark for orientation during World War II, it was blown up in 1943. "
