The Maria Sonnenberg chapel is located in Seelisberg directly above the Rütli. According to legend, in the 16th century a boy found a carved wooden image of the Blessed Virgin. Today's pilgrimage church was built at the site where it was found in 1666. Today it is wonderful to look at inside and out, with real treasures from ancient times. It was inaugurated on July 7, 1589.
