Mountain Biking Highlight (Segment)
It is not the railway line Betzdorf - Daaden, but Scheuerfeld - Emmerzhausen - Lippe.
westerwaelder-bahnen.net/index.php?nav=1000035&lang=1I agree with Christian, along the way there are beautiful panoramas, which always bring you to a halt. The route continues to Friedewald.

Great views into the country.
As far as I know, the railway line (Betzdorf - Daaden - Siegerland airport) was created in the 1930s but never put into operation.
I would be very happy to receive more information about this track.

Have now found on the Internet a note to the railway line:
emmerzhausen-westerwald.de/Geschichtliches/Berichte/Berichte.htmRail once went to Emmerzhausen
If the hikers and cyclists today under the "bridge head" on the way, then only very few people know that they are walking on an old railway line. For today's Platzrandstraße (also called Panzerstraße) was once a railway line of the Westerwaldbahn. It all started in the late 30s. The company Bongsche Mahlwerke conducted on the western slope of the Lipper Nürr (a 604.5 m high hill, about 700 meters from Emmerzhausen away) by drilling and encountered a quartzite occurrence. The only problem was that the materials had to be removed. There was only a small train, which was extended in 1928 as a private connection to Friedewald. On June 8, 1929, the government president in Koblenz approved the extension of the route to Emmerzhausen. The line was completed at the end of 1930, but only six years later went into operation, as the clientele was missing.
On October 8, the Westerwald railway Friedewald-Emmerzhausen was officially put into operation.
The Westerwaldbahn even connected the nearby Siegerland airport to the rail system.Excerpt from: [Text: Marc Rosenkranz; Photo: Archive Marc Rosenkranz, Emmerzhausen, 3 July 2004]
