It is not the Betzdorf - Daaden railway line, but Scheuerfeld - Emmerzhausen - Lippe.

I agree with Christian, there are wonderful panoramas along the way that make you stop every now and then.

      The route continues to Friedewald.

I have now found a reference to the railway line on the Internet:
        emmerzhausen-westerwald.de/Geschichtliches/Berichte/Berichte.htm

The train once went to Emmerzhausen
When hikers and cyclists are on their way below the "Stegskopf" today, very few people know that they are walking on an old railway line. Because today's Platzrandstrasse (also called Panzerstrasse) was once a railway line of the Westerwaldbahn. It all started at the end of the 30s. The company Bongsche Mahlwerke carried out test drillings on the western slope of the Lipper Nürr (a 604.5 m high hill, approx. 700 meters from Emmerzhausen) and came across a quartzite deposit. The only problem was that the materials had to be removed. There was only one small railway, which was extended as a private connecting railway to Friedewald in 1928. On June 8, 1929, the district president in Koblenz approved the extension of the line to Emmerzhausen. The line was completed at the end of 1930, but was not put into operation until six years later because there was a lack of customers.
On October 8th, the Westerwald railway line Friedewald-Emmerzhausen was officially put into operation.
The Westerwaldbahn even connected the nearby Siegerland airport to the rail system.
