The Eiskeller Tower, called the "Ice Room", is a neo-Romanesque building built around 1880 in the castle park.
It served as a refrigerator at that time.
Ice, forged from park ponds in winter, was stored in its cellar.
An efficient insulation system allowed for long storage of ice, which was transported to the castle pantries, where it protected the food from deterioration.
At the top of the Icehouse, there was a terrace for the orchestra, which made the social life in the castle park more pleasant.
