Lambic is the mother of all beers, a centuries-old tradition of brewing and spontaneous fermentation, unique in the world. The geuze steker brings in the fresh brew from four different breweries.

The wort matures in 150-year-old barrels of 1000 litres from the Czech Republic. Geuze steker Karel Goddeau will "steep" or blend and bottle lambic of 1, 3 and 5 years. The "oude geuze" is obtained by a spontaneous refermentation in the bottle of at least 1 year. This is the most expensive beer (3 years) to brew, but with so many complex flavours and a delicious aftertaste with a light oak note: world class. By adding Schaarbeekse cherries to lambic we obtain the noble oude kriek. Oude geuze and oude kriek are a geographically protected name.

Gueuze Brewery De Cam

Geuzestekerij De Cam is located in the picturesque Gooik, one of the municipalities in the hilly Pajottenland. Gooik once had many different lambic breweries and Geuze distilleries. Today De Cam is the only Gooik producer in Geuze. Steker Karel Goddeau honors the long tradition of this gueuze brewery with great passion and dedication. Due to the small scale of the Geuze distillery, De Cam's Oude Geuze is a very exclusive product.

Geuzestekerij De Cam is located on the community center of the same name in the Dorpsstraat. The Folk Instruments Museum and the cozy tavern 'De Cam' are also located on the same site, where you can enjoy a fresh Oude Geuze or a delicious meal with regional products from the Pajottenland. The cutting shop can only be visited on Sundays and by appointment.
