Baroque pilgrimage church on the Laurenziberg, built from 1707 to 1717 on the foundations of an iro-Scottish central church from the late 6th or early 7th century. Foundation stone next to the south portal. Primitive and mother church of the places around the Laurenziberg. Today's appearance after extensive remodeling and renovation 1905/1906 by architect August Greifzu, Mainz. High altar, 1656, donated by the Duke of Mainz and later Elector, Archbishop Karl Heinrich von Metternich for the burial place of his family in the Lambertika chapel in Mainz Cathedral. The coat of arms of the family Metternich-Beilstein-Winneburg in the upper segment of the altar.

The high altar came in 1807 in the Laurenzi Church. The figure of St. Laurentius is a foundation of Bishop Wilhelm Emanuel Freiherr von Ketteler (1867). The side altars are from St. Christoph's Church in Mainz and have been in the Laurenzikirche since 1868.

The windows with representations from the Vita of the hl. Laurentius comes from the Mannheim glass art workshop Kriebitzsch and Voege. Great attention is paid in 1986 by Rev. Dr. Ludwig Hellriegel furnished memorial of the Mainz martyrs from the time of the National Socialist terrorist rule in the back of the church.

Beautiful, even and low-traffic increase (4-6%) over about 2km to the church
