From the town of Setteponti to Ponte della Venturina, the Reno river marks the border between Emilia Romagna and Tuscany. In past centuries, it was only in Biagioni that it was possible to cross the Reno river, through the bridge of Romanesque origin. The same allowed the passage of flocks, horses and what was needed for the life of that time. A building that still exists, near the bridge, is indicated as the seat of the ancient Customs Service of the Papal State and the Grand Duchy of Tuscany (source: discoveraltorenoterme.it)
