Sanctuary of the Madonna del Ghisallo

All cycling enthusiasts should visit this place at least once.

Between the two branches of Lake Como stands the small Sanctuary of the Madonna del Ghisallo from which you can enjoy an enchanting view. From the beginning of the twentieth century, the sanctuary became a destination for many professional and amateur cyclists and so much was the spread of this particular route that at the end of World War II, the Madonna del Ghisallo was proclaimed the official patroness of Italian cyclists. The interior of the Sanctuary houses hundreds of memorabilia of cyclists of all times: bikes, T-shirts, medals, pennants, cups.
