The Erzgebirgshütte was built in limited numbers by the sawmill department of the Hohe Industriewerke Eibenstock / Saxony, a mixed company with sawmill, construction and road construction department and quarry owned by the Hohe family.
Two of the huts were sold in 1993 by the company's authorized signatories from Neuenbuch to the Neuenbuch hiking club, chaired by Leo Wolf, and the city of Stadtprozelten.
