500 m before the Citelli refuge, it is the starting point for excursions to the Sartorius mountains, to the Monte Baracca refuge, to travel a stretch of the Sentiero Italia up to Piano Provenzana (north Etna) or to take the climb to Pizzi Deneri. There is also a space at the side of the road to park a dozen cars.

A very beautiful area for a hike. The Etna birches form a great contrast to the volcanic rock. Moderate gradients and good paths. Hiking boots are a good idea so that you don't get too much rock in your shoes.
