Gravel riding
In 2017, the Bilmer farmer and blacksmith Heinrich Kracke erected his wrought-iron artwork "Crucifixion of Christ" at Eisenwinkel. It consists of remnants of old, unusable agricultural machinery and depicts the horror of Christ's death. Kracke took his cue from the custom of wayside crosses, common in Catholic regions. There, crosses are erected in the landscape to make the Christian faith visible. The connection to the material iron arises from the fact that remnants of an Iron Age bloomery furnace and thus signs of pre-Christian settlement were recently found very nearby.
