Hiking

The Neukloster Abbey in Wiener Neustadt was founded in 1444 by Emperor Frederick III and has belonged to the Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz as a priory since 1882. The historic complex now serves as a vibrant parish church and houses valuable cultural treasures such as a magnificent baroque library and a unique art and curiosity cabinet. In addition, the abbey church contains an important historical tomb with the resting place of Empress Eleonore of Portugal.
