The Farpener Reservoir, also known as Farpener Stausee, is a distinctive dammed lake located in the northwestern part of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. Situated approximately ten kilometers northeast of Wismar, this man-made lake lies within the Nordwestmecklenburg district, bordering the municipalities of Blowatz and Neuburg. With an average water level of 14.2 meters above sea level and the highlight point at 52 meters, the reservoir is notable for its unique Y- or fork-shaped layout, covering an area of 47 to 58 hectares.

    You don't believe it. A reservoir with a dam in the northwest of Mecklenburg. The Farpener Bach was dammed like a Ypsilon. We explored about 1/3 of the reservoir before the rain showers drove us away. That is why we did not see the dam, which was built in 1976-1978.
