Koberg was first mentioned in 1230. The place was owned by the Hanseatic City of Lübeck for a long time. Due to the comparison of 1747 in Hanover, the place fell to the Duchy of Lauenburg. Until 1770 the community had its own chapel belonging to the parish of Nusse. From 1889 Koberg was the seat of the district of the same name. After the dissolution of the administrative districts and the formation of the offices in 1948, the municipality belonged to the Office Nusse, which was added to the Office Sandesneben-Nusse in 2008.

A parish hall was built in Koberg in 2008. In addition to meeting rooms in the old farm, there is a small shop in the new extension. This is part of the market meeting concept of the state government of Schleswig-Holstein, which is intended to ensure local food supplies in the countryside. The day-care center with crèche and all-day care round off the offer.
In 2009 Koberg won the title of "Village with a Future" as the second state winner in Schleswig-Holstein.
