This is a railway bridge of the former Hanover-Altenbekener railway that has been converted into a pedestrian and cyclist bridge. At that time, the route ran from Bismarckbahnhof in Südstadt via Altenebekener Damm (the name of the street comes from the former railway embankment) across today's Maschsee via Ohedamm to Linden-Süd and from there (as it is today) in a south-west direction to Altenbeken near Paderborn . When the Maschsee was created, the route was moved further south to today's route via Waldhausen. This bridge, as well as another converted bridge over the Leine further east on the Maschsee, was preserved.
