The chapel was donated in 1349 as thanks for the salvation of the plague. She, formerly called the Old Church, has experienced an eventful history. After the Reformation, it served as a poorhouse; in 1829 it was sold to a grain merchant and served as a storehouse, and at the turn of the century it was established as a "hostel to the homeland". Since 1918 the chapel is Evangelisches Vereinshaus.

Hiking

A small special feature of the town of Parchim can be found in Mittelstrasse - the Bartholomäuskapelle. It has been an impressive witness to Parchim's town history since 1349. The Gothic brick building was used as a church until around 1560. Later it served as a poorhouse, from 1829 as a storehouse and then from 1900 as a hostel. Since the end of the First World War until today, the chapel has been an evangelical clubhouse.
