Stanway is a fine example of a Jacobean manor house. Owned by Tewkesbury Abbey for 800 years, for the last 500 years it has been owned by the Tracy family and their descendants, the Earls of Wemyss, who still live there. The house, its fascinating furniture, gatehouse, church and 14th-century tithe Barn, 18th-century water-garden, specimen trees and avenues, create an enclave of English harmony.
