Hiking

Useful waypoint, the track to Mallyan Spout runs along the eastern side of the Mallyan Spout Bar, very easy to find (see photos), and just to the west of the hotel is the bridleway leading up onto Moss Rigg, for easy Moors access.

Hiking

The coffee shop is next to the hotel and served up a nice selection of cakes and sandwiches, tea & coffee, etc. It's slightly away from the main (Heartbeat) tourist area, so was quieter than the other cafes in the village.
