Hiking Highlight
In winter, when there is ice, you should have appropriate equipment and a minimum level of fitness and surefootedness, otherwise it can quickly become dangerous.

Super beautiful nature. Kind of like an adventure playground. Please wear sturdy shoes.

The Hörschbach Gorge has been a 46.4 hectare nature reserve since March 1995!
An approx. 2km long hiking trail (path) leads through the sometimes narrow and unspoilt gorge, through water or over bridges, from the lower "Front Waterfall" (5m drop height) to the upper "Rear Waterfall" (12m drop height). The "rear waterfall" was designated as a natural monument in 1965 with an area of 20 hectares (50m below and 50m above)!
Extensive natural monuments should not be larger than 5ha, which is why an NSG was applied for for the eponymous gorge ...www2.lubw.baden-wuerttemberg.de/public/abt2/dokablage/oac_12/vo/1/1208.htmwww2.lubw.baden-wuerttemberg.de/public/abt2/dokablage/oac_12/wuerdigung/1/1208.htmde.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hörschbach_(Murr)

The so-called "Bachweg" through the Hörschbach Gorge is currently (2021) closed! You should inquire about the current situation beforehand on the homepage of the city of Murrhardt: murrhardt.de/de/Tourismus-und-Freizeit/Naturpark-Wald-und-Natur/Naturschoenheiten/HoerschbachschluchtHighly frequented during the holiday periods and when the weather is great!

Wonderful nature. Hiking shoes 🥾recommended!

The most beautiful way to follow the Hörschbach.

Especially when it is warmer days, it will be nice and pleasant here. However, I would start quite early because it will probably get quite crowded here when the weather is nice.

Attention. The gorge (Bachweg) has been officially closed since this summer. Rotten bridges were removed and due to landslides and rockfalls. It's all on signs. Nevertheless, there are many in the gorge. Demanding but still feasible.

Hiking in the Hörschbach Gorge was definitely an adventure, as the paths were very muddy, sometimes the paths were missing and you had to somehow cross the Hörschbach several times. Literally over hill and dale, sliding up and down the slopes!

Fantastically beautiful paths through the gorge 🥰 just be careful in bad weather ... if it's muddy, it gets uncomfortable ...

Absolute hiking highlight with imposing waterfalls in the Rems-Murr district
September 10, 2020
Makes a good mood. But it is sometimes difficult to keep the distance during Corona time. The prohibition signs don't seem to interest anyone either.
February 15, 2021
Attention, according to the Murrhardt community website, the gorge is closed until further notice (as of March 31, 2021).

The Hörschbach Gorge is always worth a hike. Recommended only with sturdy shoes. And if possible, then avoid the weekend, because then unfortunately it will be completely overrun. Parking spaces are bursting at the seams. On the paths and in the gorge it is almost like at the weekly market.

Meanwhile (due to Corona?) Very crowded on the weekends!

Absolutely spectacular hiking highlight. Sturdy shoes are an absolute must. Don't even think about walking through the gorge in sneakers. You often have to go through the water, over slippery stones and very narrow paths. But it's definitely worth it. Unfortunately a bit overcrowded on the weekends. Avoid parking spaces in Murrhardt, as you can only park there for up to 2 hours.

Absolute highlight of the region, best combined with the Franzklinge and the Felsenmeer. Unfortunately, most of the path has just been swept away

It is worthwhile to start walking (in the morning or in the late afternoon), with us starting time 8:45 there was almost nothing going on at 11:30 it was always full, it was then no longer relaxed, at the moment the direct bridges are being renewed, renovated because they were were rotten.Otherwise a great hiking trail with beautiful nature

Mega beautiful waterfalls and gorges 🤗 only be careful when it has rained, in mud it is really dangerous and very slippery ...
May 17, 2021
A must in winter when all the paths are frozen because it's great to walk then
