Ermita de las Nieves Viewpoint

The hermitage of Las Nieves is located in a beautiful viewpoint. It is a very quiet place where you can enjoy views of the coast.

A visit to the chapel is considered an insider tip, as it sits high on the Risco de Famara and offers a fantastic view of both the mountains and the sea. "Ermita de las Nieves" means "pilgrimage chapel of the snow" in German.
According to legend, it is dedicated to a virgin who should be begged for snow. However, the chances of it snowing on Lanzarote are so low that the villagers in the area ask for rain instead.
But it should have snowed a hundred more here.
Unfortunately, the church cannot be visited because it is rarely open.
