Buttenwiesen Castle was owned by Eberstall-Reisensburg in the 12th and 13th centuries and came to the Margraviate of Burgau around 1270, which ruled Buttenwiesen until the 19th century. The parish church of the Holy Trinity rises in the center of the village. It is a single-nave, late Gothic building from the 2nd half of the 15th century, it was changed around 1630. The tower was added in 1725.
