After passing the "Patanaro" pass, descend on the Serinese side in the direction of the Cirasuolo area, on the path we find the famous ichthyolo mines where we find uncontaminated nature and pure water
For the extraction they dug with iron poles and ice axes and also made children work.

Ittiolo mines on the road between Serino and Giffoni Valle Piana.
There are more than one paths to get there.
The mines are fascinating inside.
You need to enter with torches and they are very deep with various tunnels.
There are 4 or 5 entrances of those we saw, but only one is easily accessible.
The path we took is simple, it doesn't have high gradients or exposed points,
a first part on dirt road amidst chestnut and hazel trees to then continue on a mountain path.
