Cycling

During the Cold War, depot bunkers, so-called barrier houses, were mostly set up in the middle of the forest. It was used to store explosives and detonators for potential road and bridge detonations. These bunkers were equipped with very elaborate door locks and several doors arranged one behind the other. Two such barrier houses have been built here in the forest embankment. Lattice doors allow a view inside.

A look back into the history of the Cold War - unfortunately more relevant now than it has been for a long time. Here the German army stored explosives for road, path and bridge blast shafts in the local region. The engineer soldiers responsible were called/are called Wallmeister.
