The Lennebergwald or Gonsenheimer Wald is an approximately 700-acre, protected forest area in Rheinhessen.

Characteristic of the Lennebergwald is its very dry, sandy soil and a high soil temperature. As a result, one finds mainly pines and oaks and a dry grass flora as in the adjacent diverse nature reserve Großer Sand.

Of great importance is the Gonsenheim Forest in terms of ecology and as a recreational area for joggers, Nordic walkers, mountain bikers and walkers who use hundreds of thousands of excellent hiking trails every year. In the Lennebergwald there are several cultural monuments Budenheims, such as the castle Waldthausen, the Old St. Wendelinus Chapel, the Lennebergturm, the New St. Wendelinus Chapel and the water tank Budenheim and Gonsenheim.
