First mentioned in a Göttweiger tradition book in 1161, Hainfeld became Protestant in the 16th century among the Jörg family, who claimed to be protestant preachers. In 1616, David G. Corner, later abbot of Göttweig, again appointed a Catholic priest. The parish is still part of Göttweig Abbey.

Turkish invasions, fires and especially World War II leave their mark on the church. In 1978, the parish and city were given a new meeting place with the new building of the parish center. The valuable "Barockstöckl" remains. Our church was last renovated from 1991 to 2004, when you came across a hidden room under the cross altar.

The decor is mostly neo-Gothic, some exhibits date from the 16th century.

The building "church" is only revived by the people.
