The place is widely known as the »Sabinchenstadt« Treuenbrietzen due to the mortification of »Sabinchen«. The ten-day Sabinchen Festival is celebrated every year. In the medieval town center there are sights such as the local history museum, the churches of St. Marien (with Luther lime tree) and St. Nikolai, the water and powder towers, the city wall and the town hall with stalls.
