Owakudani at 1044 m is a volcanic valley with active sulfur vents and hot springs, which was formed by a volcanic eruption over 3,000 years ago. Due to volcanic activity and impressive panoramic views – on a clear day, you have a fantastic view of Mt. Fuji – this area is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hakone. Owakudani is occasionally closed due to the emission of volcanic gases, so please inquire about this before your visit.
