Rotbach Alm is located at 1423 m above sea level, on the SW side of the homonymous Rio Rosso valley (Rotbachtal). It is a typical farmhouse, the oldest in the Aurina Valley, with rustic traditional wooden rooms and a beautiful panoramic terrace. Its origin, in this position, dates back to 1884, as evidenced by an engraving in the old stone fountain. In January 1951, an avalanche severely damaged the building, as demonstrated by the still sloping wooden walls. Abandoned in favor of a permanent settlement in the valley, and used only in the summer period for working the meadows and pastures, it was inhabited again in 1997. rotbachalm.com
