The aristocratic Wulfshagen estate is one of the late foundings in Schleswig-Holstein. It was founded only a few years before the construction of the baroque mansion by the widowed Magdalena von Thienen auf Hütten, who moved her Gettorfer Meierhof to this place in 1673. As early as 1681, she had to sell her estate and huts again, and after a short period of time under Count Königsmarck, both goods came to Andreas Pauli Baron von Liliencron (1630-1700), who had a manor house built on Wulfshagen in 1699. Born as a commoner, Pauli Reichsfreiherr von Liliencron was a son of the merchant Paul Martens in Bredstedt and made a diplomatic career at the Danish court at an early age
