Above the Rechenbergals, the path initially turns left over an alpine slope. Once at the top of the saddle, turn left into the forest (not signposted or marked) and only 10 minutes more steeply to the Großer Rechenberg. The small summit plateau is provided and decorated with a brand new sign (2021) and offers wonderful views of the Chiemsee. Be careful, right behind the cross it goes straight down ...

In addition to the Chiemsee, you can see the Hochlerch, the Hochgern, the Hochfelln, the Jochberg with the Jochbergalmen and the steamship, as well as the ridge to the Kleiner Rechenberg.

A great view. In good weather you can see the Chiemsee. Not recommended in bad weather as steep sections were very slippery on the climb. A bank invites you to linger. Behind the bench and the summit cross, the descent is very steep. Some climbing is required for the ascent. We didn't use a fuse. Nevertheless, we held on everywhere during the ascent and descent.
