The port of Saint Goustan is in fact the port of the city of Auray which is located just above. It is a highly touristic place that has remained as they say in its own juice. You will find there in particular very beautiful ships at the quayside as well as very beautiful medieval half-timbered houses which will serve you with their pancake and drink terraces. The American Benjamin Franklin, one of the founding fathers of the United States of America, marked the history of the port. In 1776, he was forced by the wind to disembark at Auray, when he wanted to join Nantes to ask France for help in obtaining independence from the United States. He thus set foot on the quay which now bears his name.

Avoid riding on Saturday and Sunday afternoons as there are often many people strolling around. Apart from that, aim visits at mid-tide to have the maximum flow under the bridge.

Cute fishing town with a well preserved historic center around the old port and market square.
