Historic Center of Castelfranco di Sopra

Castelfranco di Sopra is the institutional and historical center of the Italian municipality of Castelfranco Piandiscò. Already an independent municipality until 1 January 2014, it was certified for its particular urban and architectural structure as one of "The most beautiful villages in Italy".

A very beautiful mountain town with two churches, old city walls with gates and an abbey.
Much of the structure dates back to the time when the city was founded in the Middle Ages as a commercial outpost of Florence. This can also be read from the planned arrangement of the streets, which can also be seen in the city model on the central market square.
The old city wall and the many small passageways and alleys invite you to explore and take pictures.
