The statue of Hindenburg was knocked over by Soviet soldiers after the Second World War and buried at the foot of the Kyffhäuser mountain range. The owner of the property had partially excavated the more than three meter high statue of Reich President Paul von Hindenburg. According to the district office, a large part is under the foundation of his bungalow. According to the Ministry of Culture, a legal examination showed that the property owner also owns the statue.
