Forest management in transition

Over a length of 9 km, 10 different stations illustrate the importance of the forest for humans and the diverse uses of the forest by humans over the past 500 years. Charcoal burning, cattle drive, firewood and construction wood production in the 18th century, the importance of the forest for the Saarland mining area in the 19th and 20th centuries and the natural forest management of the 21st century are some of the topics. The Finkenrech leisure center at the southern gate of the Saar-Hunsrück nature park is the ideal starting point for hikes. The Nordic Walking Park opens up the Bell raft and Schönebuch forest.
