The Royal Saxon State Railway Directorate wanted to close the gaps in the railway network on the northern Saxon state border with the Nordostbahn (NOB) around 1915. The embankment is still clearly visible, a few structures can be found, but the NOB was never completed and did not go into operation due to the massive inflation during the hyperinflation in 1923 after construction costs of 4.5 million Reichsmarks.
