Hidden in the forest is a small castle on a small rock.

    Translated by Google •

After a short stretch from Doos, a small castle rises on the left side above the country road, resting on a steep rock massif. It's obvious that it's not very old and isn't a historic castle. This small castle is called "Herrenfels Castle on the High Steig." It was built between 1902 and 1904 by Dr. Hugo Reinsch, a high school professor from Streitberg, on the 35-meter-high Herrenfels on the High Steig. The castle is popularly known as "Reinsch Castle."

Unfortunately, it's not accessible. It's locked. But it's beautiful to look at, nestled in the middle of the forest.

Always worth a hike in the beautiful Wiesental with a view of the beautiful castle 🏰.
